Young Invaders from Texas
For two weeks in March, "Big Popeye" and "Grandma Popeye" were visited by
two of the sweetest angels Texas has ever seen.
Ezme (r), 4, and Clara, 3, proved beyond doubt why their grandparents had been missing them so much.
They're back in Austin now, and things in Annapolis aren't nearly as much fun.

Memory Lane: The Green Party Anthem
"Back in the Day" ... during his PC days ...
(DOS, that is, certainly not 'politically correct') ...
Terry produced three CDs of 'music' and commentary utilizing ACID Loops by Sonic Foundry/SONY.
One of the satirical tunes & videos was "The Green Party Anthem".
Click on the image below to check it out ... (by the way, how did the world not go gaga over this stuff ... because ... it didn't ...)

19 Years as the "You Don't Get It" Guy
Terry recently began his 19th year as 'the voice of the Washington Post' and its decades-long daily edition radio promo campaign. Written by the Post's Mike Greenberg and produced for over three decades by the dean of Mid-Atlantic audio engineers, Jim Bloch of Blochhouse Media, the promos highlight the features of each day's Washington Post. It's quite a process.
Once the editors of the paper decide on the next-day-edition's structure, Mike Greenberg produces a script and delivers it to Jim and Terry by 5 - 5:30 PM Eastern. Jim connects with Terry by ISDN and directs the reads. Terry then ftp-transmits the full-bandwidth winners to Jim, who mixes a master radio spot and ships it to a digital transmission center in New York; they deliver the spot to radio stations all over the DC region by 7 PM Eastern for next-day air.
The ad campaign has been called 'Hall of Fame worthy' by marketing pros. And the closing phrase, "If you don't get it, you don't get it" is well known to most everyone in the Nation's Capitol region.

A Hot New Drummer in Town

"An Exemplary Human Being"
That's what we call our oldest granddaughter, Rochelle Hale, who attends Western Washington University in Bellingham.
Her course of study: pre-Law with a special focus on human rights and victim advocacy. She is pictured above with her Washington State DVSAS certification. This allows her to advocate for victims of domestic and sexual assault in the Washington court system. She's already had several court sessions representing those in need.
We could not be any prouder.

Fireside Cat
With apologies to Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Say hello to Oreo, our new cat. Caroline stopped byPetco during a pet-rescue event several weeks ago, and this handsome guy spoke to her. The rough translation: "Hey, I'm up for adoption. Take me home--now. I mean, look at me--where are you ever gonna find such an interesting looking guy? Check out my chin. Check out the pointy white arrow on my nose. Check me out. Admit it--I'm irresistible."
Just so. And that's how Oreo came to be sitting by our fire. In fact, he loves a good fire like no cat we've ever seen. His other obsession is watching cat videos on Terry's iPad.
That's the good news. The bads news is a couple of weeks after Oreo came home, we lost our beloved feral cat, Orange--who came into our lives and for the first seven years didn't let us touch him while he gazed in from the back porch. Then he turned into the consummate 'rub me, rub me' glutton who slept in our bed and gave us big juicy kisses. Thanks, Orange. You were one of the great feline characters of all time.
